Marjorie Nell McFarland, 84, died peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at a nearby hospice. She was with her family at the time of her death. She went to Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church every week for more than 40 years.
There are a lot of love and fond memories left behind by Ms. Marjorie. She was born on April 2, 1940, and she always saw the beauty in the world around her. She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers. She also loved being outside, especially fishing and crabbing, but she always made sure to put the crabs back in the water after she caught them.

She often went on trips to Colorado, Utah, and Canada because she loved being outside. She found peace there. Even though she loved the Earth’s beauty, her family was what she loved most. Marjorie was the proud head of her family, and she had a deep love for the people she cared about.
When Marjorie worked at the Weingartens of Lake Charles for just two weeks, she met Raymond L. McFarland, who would become her husband. They got married on April 12, 1957, and were never apart until he died in 1998.
Marjorie loved sharing her interests with her kids and grandchildren, and she often taught them how to do her favorite things. Taking her grandkids to church camp to make sure they were spiritually healthy was one of her favorite traditions. Even though she had a soft heart, she was very protective of her family and always looked out for them.
